13th International Conference on Electron Spectroscopy and Structure (ICESS-2015)

Stony Brook, New York, USA

Kazuyuki Sakamoto of Chiba University attended the 13th International Conference on Electron Spectroscopy and Structure (ICESS-2015), which was held in Stony Brook, New York, USA from Sept. 28 to Oct. 2, 2015, and gave a presentation about the electronic structure of heavy element alloy ultra-thin film. This conference, which is one of the biggest conferences focused on the electronic structure of materials, also highlights novel use of synchrotron radiation light and free electron laser. Each morning, the conference started with two plenary talks at 8:30, and then two sessions ran in parallel till the evening. In the poster session held in Monday and Thursday evening, beers and wines were served, and active discussions were done here and there. Wednesday afternoon was a free afternoon, and most of the participant went to New York City to do sightseen and/or shopping.
