227th ECS Meeting

The 227th ECS Meeting was held in Chicago, Illinois, USA from 24th to 28th, May 2015. In this meeting, the electrochemistry, solid-state chemistry and fabrication techniques concerning the subfields of Li-ion batteries, organic solar cells and porphyrins have been widely discussed. With the financial support from Core-to-Core program, I attended this meeting and have listened to the talks in the session of organic photocells, Li-ion batteries and porphyrins. These presentations broadened my knowledge with not only the information about organic solar cells, but also other fields in electrochemistry. At the conference, I presented a poster about the transient photocurrent of an organic photocell assisted by the electric double layers in the electrolyte. My presentation attracted many audience, and our discussion was very meaningful for my future research.
2015年5月23日から28日に第227回ECS Meetingがシカゴで開催された。この国際会議ではリチウム電池をはじめとした蓄電池や、有機太陽電池、ポルフィリンなど、電気化学および、固体化学技術について幅広く議論がされた。今回、私はCore-to-Core プログラムの支援を受けこの国際会議に参加させていただいた。私は有機太陽電池を取り扱うセッションの講演を中心に、リチウムイオン電池、およびポルフィリンを取り扱うセッションの講演を拝聴したが、そこでは普段自身が行っている有機太陽電池の研究について新しい知見が得られただけでなく、普段自身が行っていない分野での研究について学ぶことができ、電気化学に関する知識を深めることができた。また、電解液がつくる電気二重層に誘起される過渡光電流に関する報告をポスター発表にて行ったところ、学生を含め多くの研究者に来ていただき有意義な議論を交わすことができた。
